Debby Bechtold

Owner and Stylist

Debby has been shaping styles and inspiring confidence since 1977. A second-generation stylist, she likes to say, “Hair is in my blood.” Following in the footsteps of her mother, Dola Shepherd—founder of Wentzville House of Beauty in 1965—Debby has built a career defined by skill, creativity, and care.

Known for her expertise in color and precision cuts, Debby loves helping clients bring their vision to life. She works with top product lines including Unite and Alterna, and her longtime favorite, Nioxin, celebrated for supporting fine and thinning hair. When she’s not behind the chair, Debby treasures time with her family and grandchildren.

A dedicated industry leader, Debby is a proud member of the Professional Beauty Association (formerly the National Cosmetology Association), which supports the beauty community through education, advocacy, and charitable outreach. She also helped found the St. Charles Cosmetology Foundation, reflecting her passion for giving back and elevating her profession.

Tricia Winters

Stylist

Tricia is a proud third-generation hairstylist who grew up surrounded by the craft, learning from both her mother and grandmother. She loves the social side of her work—connecting with clients and helping them feel confident and beautiful. While she finds every aspect of hairstyling rewarding, color is her true passion, allowing her creativity to shine.

Always advancing her skills, Tricia is certified in hair extensions and continually pursues ongoing education to stay at the forefront of trends and techniques. Among her favorite products are Unite Lazer Straight, which smooths hair without sacrificing volume, and Alterna’s Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Micromist, which enhances shine and softness.

When she’s not in the salon, Tricia treasures time with her three children and new grandchild. She also enjoys home decorating and crafting—outlets for her creativity beyond hairstyling.

Steven Bechtold

Behind the Scenes

Steve Bechtold was truly the “behind-the-scenes” heart of WHB. Married to Debby for nearly 41 years, he was always there to lend a helping hand—fixing what needed to be fixed, picking up supplies, and brightening the salon with his warm, contagious smile.

Steven Earl Bechtold passed away on May 14, 2020.  He lived a life of service, devotion, and joy. A proud Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War, Steve later became a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

He loved cheering on the Kansas University Jayhawks, snow skiing, and relaxing on the beach—but above all, he cherished time with his family. Steve’s kindness and quiet strength touched everyone he met, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lana Lambert

Assistant and Receptionist

Lana joined Wentzville House of Beauty in 1995 after many years as a stylist in Warrenton and Wentzville. A graduate of St. Charles Beauty College, she loved the energy of the salon, perfecting the art of the shampoo and making every guest feel welcome.  Outside of work she treasured time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lana passed away on July 21, 2020.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was active in Wentzville Christian Church and proudly served with the American Legion Post 323 Ladies Auxiliary. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
